BUS STOP MODIFICATIONS

The following permanent bus stop modifications are being made on the dates listed below:  

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

MANOA ROAD , MAKAI OF LINOHAU STREET :

Eastbound (mauka-bound) on Manoa Road , makai of Linohau Street .  This route 5 bus stop will be modified from a 'courtesy sign' to an official ADA official bus stop sign, with a red curb zone.  

KAILUA ROAD , MAKAI OF HAMAKUA DRIVE :

Outbound into Kailua Town routes 56, 57, 57A, 70, and 85, this official ADA bus stop pole and sign will be relocated 20' in the makai direction, to avoid the tree roots at the current location.  

EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, JULY 2, 2008

As part of the Department of Transportation Services (DTS) Public Transit Division's "Bus Stop Realignment Project", the following bus stops will be permanently discontinued due to their mid-block status:  

MIDDLE STREET, EWA OF KAMEMAMEHA IV ROAD (ROUTE 2 AND 7):

Kokohead (eastbound) direction:

Bus stop between Haumana Street and Kamehameha IV Road is to be permanently discontinued.  

Ewa (westbound) direction:

Bus stop between Kamehameha IV Road and Notley Street is to be permanently discontinued.

NEW ROUTE 1L BUS STOP – 3 MONTH TRIAL PERIOD  

Effective Monday, June 9, 2008 , the City's Department of Transportation Services (DTS)/Public Transit Division (PTD) has approved a NEW route "1L" bus stop on Waialae Avenue at St. Louis Drive , in the WESTBOUND direction only, for a 3-month trial period.  Westbound Routes 1 and 1L buses will service this stop beginning with the first westbound Route 1 trips.  A new bus stop sign will be installed with route numbers 1, 1L, and 9 reflecting this change.  

NEW ROUTE 1L BUS STOP LOCATION

EFFECTIVE MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2008

3 MONTH TRIAL PERIOD, UNLESS EXTENDED  

BUS STOP LOCATION:

On Waialae Avenue , Koko Head of St. Louis Drive (City Mill)

DIRECTION:  Westbound  

NOTE: There will NOT be a Route 1L bus stop established in the EASTBOUND direction.

TEMPORARY BUS STOP CLOSURE AND RELOCATION  

Effective FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2007 , at 12:00 p.m. , the bus stop located on Alakea Street mauka of King Street will be temporarily closed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, due to the ongoing sidewalk improvements at the Central Pacific Bank building.  Routes 6, 55, 56, 57, 57A, 65, 80, 80A, 82, 85, 85A, 88, 88A, 89 and 95 bus riders are directed to board and alight at the Alakea/Hotel (District Court) bus stop. A temporary bus stop for Routes 19 and 20 will be established on Alakea Street makai of Hotel Street , alongside the Alii Place office building.

Alternate Bus Stop:             On Alakea Street , mauka of Hotel Street (Hawaii District Court)

Routes 19 and 20  

Temporary Closure Location:   On Alakea Street , mauka of King Street

Effective Date and Time:      Friday, November 16, 2007 , 12:00 p.m.

Time Period of Closure:        24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Temporary Bus Stop:           On Alakea Street , makai of Hotel Street ( Alii Place Building )
