DECEMBER 2016 SERVICE CHANGES

ROUTE CHANGES

 

The following major route changes will take place on Sunday, 12/4/2016 and Monday 12/5/2016 for weekday only services.

 

ROUTE 22, BEACH BUS

Bus Stop Notice: .pdf

 

The westbound route will be modified to end at Kalakaua/Pau and begin at Kalakaua + Opposite Olohana.  Note:  The bus stop at Olohana + Kalakaua #875 will be discontinued.

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will begin eastbound service on Kalakaua + Opposite Olohana

                    (Bus Stop #4352) and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular westbound route to Kuhio/Olohana, then continue on Kuhio, onto Kalakaua to end service at Kalakaua/Pau Street (Bus Stop #30).

 

ROUTE 40, HONOLULU-MAKAHA

The Route 40 will discontinue service to Wet’n’Wild Hawaii, Bus Stop #568.  Service to Wet’n’Wild Hawaii will be provided by the new Route 416 KAPOLEI CIRCULATOR.

 

ROUTE 41, KAPOLEI-EWA BEACH

As directed by the City & County of Honolulu, Department of Transportation Services, effective Sunday, December 4, 2016, the ROUTE 41, KAPOLEI/EWA BEACH will be detoured to re-establish all day service to Kanehili Hawaiian Homes.  Service will be provided in both the eastbound and westbound directions.

 

Will service this bus stop:

 

·         Kinoiki Street + Kamokuiki Street, Bus Stop # 4569

 

Note:  ROUTE 416, KAPOLEI CIRCULATOR will also service this bus stop.

 

From approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. the Route 41 will not provide service to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands at Kinoiki/Kamokuiki (Bus Stop #4569).  During this timeframe, service to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands will be provided by the new Route 416 KAPOLEI CIRCULATOR.

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel regular eastbound route to Kamaaha/Kapolei Parkway, then right Kapolei Parkway, and resume regular eastbound route.

 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel regular westbound route to Kapolei Parkway/Kamaaha, then left Kamaaha, resume regular westbound route.

 

 

ROUTE 62, HONOLULU-WAHIAWA

The Route 62 will be extended to provide service to the Mililani Transit Center.

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel regular eastbound route to Kamehameha Highway/Meheula Parkway, then left Meheula Parkway to the appropriate eastbound bus bay at the Mililani Transit Center, continue on Meheula Parkway, right Lanikuhana, right Makaimoimo, left Meheula Parkway, left Kamehameha Highway,  and resume regular eastbound route.

 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel regular westbound route to Kamehameha Highway/Meheula Parkway, then right Meheula Parkway to the appropriate westbound bus bay at the Mililani Transit Center, continue on Meheula Parkway, right Lanikuhana, right Makaimoimo, left Meheula Parkway, right Kamehameha Highway, and resume regular westbound route.

 

ROUTE 72, SCHOFIELD-WAHIAWA-WHITMORE

The ROUTE 72 will discontinue service into the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific (NCTAMS PAC).

 

Eastbound:   Whitmore/Nani Ihi to Waianae/Gorgas via NCTAMS – TheBus will travel from the terminus at Whitmore/Nani Ihi, right Nani Ihi, left Whitmore, and then resume the regular route.

 

Westbound:  No change.

ROUTE E, COUNTRYEXPRESS!

 

Effective SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2016, the Route E Country Express! E will be permanently routed through Kona Street in the eastbound direction.

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular eastbound route to Kapiolani/Pensacola, then continue on Kapiolani, right Kona Iki, left Kona, onto Mahukona, right Atkinson, left Ala Moana, and then resume regular eastbound route.

 

Westbound:  No change. 

 

ROUTE 80A, HAWAII KAI EXPRESS

The Route 80A will be extended to provide morning service into Hahaione Valley.

 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular westbound route to Hawaii Kai Drive/Pepeekeo, then right Pepeekeo, left Ainapo, right Hahaione, right Hawaii Kai Drive, after passing Pepeekeo and resume regular westbound route.

 

ROUTE 98A, KUNIA-WAHIAWA-MILILANI

The Route 98A will discontinue service to Kunia, and re-designated ROUTE 98A WAHIAWA-MILILANI TRANSIT CENTER.  The morning service will begin from Kamehameha Highway/Leilehua Golf Course Road, and the afternoon service will end at Kamehameha Highway/Leilehua Golf Course Road.

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel from Kamehameha Highway/Leilehua Golf Course Road, and resume regular eastbound route.

 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular westbound route to end at Kamehameha Highway/Leilehua Golf Course Road.

 

ROUTE 99, WAHIAWA-MILILANI-WAIPAHU-KAPOLEI

A new express route will be implemented to provide service between the Wahiawa Transit Center and Kapolei Transit Center via the Mililani Transit Center and Waipahu Transit Center. This nine (9) month pilot will be assessed after six (6) months to determine continuance.

 

Westbound (A.M.):  TheBus will travel from the Wahiawa Transit Center, right California, left Kamehameha Highway, take on-ramp to H-2 SOUTH, H-2 SOUTH, take EXIT 5 “MILILANI”, right Meheula Parkway, merge to the far left into the “BUS ONLY” lane, proceed cautiously into the Mililani Transit Center to the appropriate bus bay, from the Mililani Transit Center, left Meheula Parkway, left Kamehameha Highway, right Lumiaina, onto Managers Drive, onto Mokuola, right Hikimoe, left Waipahu Depot Road, right Farrington Highway, left UH West Oahu campus road continuing around the loop returning on the UH West Oahu campus road, left Farrington Highway, left Kamokila, left Wakea, right Haumea.

 

Eastbound (P.M.):   TheBus will travel from Haumea, right Uluohia, right Kamokila, right Farrington Highway, right UH West Oahu campus road continuing around the loop returning on the UH West Oahu campus road, right Farrington Highway, left Waipahu Depot Road, right Hikimoe, left Mokuola, onto Managers Drive, onto Lumiaina, left Kamehameha Highway, right Meheula Parkway, take on-ramp to H-2 NORTH, H-2 NORTH, take EXIT 8 “WAHIAWA”, onto Kamehameha Highway, right California, left Wahiawa Transit Center.

 

ROUTE 416, KAPOLEI CIRCULATOR

A new Community Access route will be implemented to provide service within the Kapolei Community. This nine (9) month pilot will be assessed after six (6) months to determine continuance.

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel from the Wet’n’Wild Hawaii frontage road, left to EXIT, right Farrington Highway, left Kalaeloa, right Kapolei Parkway, negotiate a left U-turn returning east on Kapolei Parkway, left Kamokila, right Uluohia, left Haumea, right Wakea, left Kapolei Parkway, left Kualakai Parkway, right Keahumoa Parkway, left Maunakapu, left at the second entrance to the Salvation Army Kroc Center Hawaii parking lot, left parking row along Maunakapu left to EXIT, exit right Maunakapu, right Keahumoa Parkway to end near the Kroc Center.

 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel from Keahumoa Parkway, right Kualakai Parkway, left Farrington Highway, left UH West Oahu campus road continuing around the loop returning on the UH West Oahu campus road, right Farrington Highway, right Kualakai Parkway, right Kapolei Parkway, right Kinoiki, right Kamokuiki, right Kekahili, right Kapolei Parkway, right Wakea, left Haumea, right Uluohia, left Kamokila, right Kapolei Parkway, negotiate a left U-turn returning east on Kapolei Parkway, left Kalaeloa, right Farrington Highway, left Diamond Head entrance to Wet’n’Wild Hawaii, left frontage road.

 

ROUTE 501, MILILANI MAUKA

The westbound route will be modified to end at the Mililani Transit Center with the layover to be taken on Makaimoimo.

 

Eastbound:   No change.

 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular westbound route to end at Mililani Transit Center.

Note: All riders must disembark at Mililani Transit Center. The bus will go out of service by exiting right Meheula Parkway, right Lanikuhana, right Makaimoimo to the layover terminus established on Makaimoimo behind Chili’s Restaurant.  After the layover, the bus will travel right Meheula Parkway to begin eastbound trip at Mililani Transit Center.

 

ROUTE 503, MILILANI TOWN CENTER/WAIPIO/LAUNANI VALLEY
