GREAT ALOHA RUN

The GREAT ALOHA RUN will be held on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2024. Approximately 15,000 runners/walkers are expected to participate in this event. The run will start at Nimitz Highway / Nuuanu Avenue and proceed westbound on Nimitz Highway onto Kamehameha Highway, to finish inside the Aloha Stadium. TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

AFFECTED ROUTES:	1L, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 20, 32, 40, 42, 51, 60, 65, 66, 67, 122, 151, 303, 306, 551, 552, A, E, W1, & W2
AFFECTED AREAS:	Abbreviated service on Nimitz Highway and Kamehameha Highway between Nuuanu Avenue and the Aloha Stadium. No service on Sand Island Access Road and Auiki Street.

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

ROUTE 1L, HAWAII KAI LIMITED STOPS-ALOHA STADIUM via SALT LAKE

Eastbound: TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Salt Lake/Luapele (Stop #2962), continue on Salt Lake, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Salt Lake/Kahuapaani, right Kahuapaani, left Ulune, right Halawa Heights, veer right to merge onto Kahuapaani, continue on Kahuapaani, left Salt Lake to temporary terminus located at Salt Lake/Luapele (Stop #2962).

ROUTE 4, NUUANU-PUNAHOU-McCULLY

Eastbound: No detour.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Beretania/Punchbowl, continue on Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, left Bethel, then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 6, PAUOA-WOODLAWN

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali/Beretania, right Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, right Punchbowl, left Queen, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Queen/South, right South, onto Alapai, left Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, left Alakea, then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 7, KALIHI VALLEY

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Mokauea/Hau, left Hau, left Kalihi, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalihi/Kalani, right Kalani, right Mokauea, then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 9, KAIMUKI-PEARL HARBOR

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Center/Kamehameha, right Kamehameha, take EXIT 15A “Airport/Nimitz” to Nimitz, then resume the regular route after passing Valkenburgh.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Middle, take H-1 WEST (Upper Viaduct) on-ramp, take Exit 15B “JOINT BASE PHH,” onto Nimitz, right Center to terminus.

NOTE: NO SERVICE TO VALKENBURGH AND NAVY EXCHANGE AREAS.

ROUTE 10, KAILHI-ALEWA HEIGHTS

Eastbound: TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Mokauea/King (Zippy’s), continue on Mokauea, left Hau, right Kalihi, right Kalani, right Mokauea, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Mokauea/King, and terminate at the temporary terminus fronting Zippy’s.

ROUTE 11, MAKALAPA-HALAWA-AIEA HEIGHTS

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Bougainville/Radford, left Radford, right Salt Lake, left Puuloa, right “HWY 78 HONOLULU,” onto MOANALUA FREEWAY EAST, onto H-1 EAST, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel from the Vineyard/Palama, left onto H-1 WEST at “Vineyard Blvd” on-ramp, continue on MOANALUA FREEWAY, right EXIT 3 “PUULOA RD/TRIPLER HOSPITAL,” left Puuloa, right Salt Lake, left Radford, right Bougainville, then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-ALOHA STADIUM

Eastbound: TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus, continue on Kaonohi, right Moanalua, right Pali Momi, left Kamehameha to Kamehameha/Salt Lake (service Stop #695), continue on Kamehameha, then resume the regular route to Nimitz/Lagoon, left Dillingham off-ramp, onto Dillingham, right King, right Punchbowl, left Pohukaina, right South, left Ala Moana, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to King/Iwilei, continue on King, left Dillingham, onto Kamehameha, take H-1 WEST “AIRPORT” (Upper Viaduct) on-ramp, take EXIT 16 “AIRPORT” to Airport (Upper Level), left onto H-1 on-ramp, left H-1 WEST “WAIANAE,” take EXIT 15A “STADIUM/ARIZONA MEMORIAL,” onto Kamehameha (contra-flow lane), continue on Kamehameha from Kamehameha/Salt Lake, right Kaonohi to temporary terminus.

Note:

· THEBUS WILL NOT OPERATE INTO THE ARIZONA MEMORIAL SERVICE STOP while contra-flow lane is in operation.

· THEBUS WILL NOT OPERATE INTO HALAWA ALOHA STADIUM STATION.

ROUTE 32, KALIHI TRANSIT CENTER-FOSTER VILLAGE-PEARLRIDGE

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Honomanu, right onto “H201 EAST HONOLULU” on-ramp, onto MOANALUA FREEWAY, right EXIT 1B “HALAWA VALLEY/STADIUM,” right Kahuapaani, left Salt Lake, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel from the Salt Lake/Kahuapaani, right Kahuapaani, left Ulune, left Kaimakani, right Moanalua, left Laulima, right Kamehameha Highway, then resume the regular route.

Eastbound: No detour.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Middle, take H-1 WEST “AIRPORT” (Upper Viaduct) on-ramp, take EXIT 15A “STADIUM/ARIZONA MEMORIAL”, onto Kamehameha (contra-flow lane), then resume the regular route from Kamehameha/Salt Lake.

ROUTE 42, EWA BEACH-WAIKIKI

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Punchbowl/Pohukaina, left Pohukaina, right South, left Ala Moana, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Middle, take H-1 WEST “AIRORT” (Upper Viaduct) on-ramp, take EXIT 15A “STADIUM/ARIZONA MEMORIAL”, onto Kamehameha (contra-flow lane), then resume the regular route from Kamehameha/Salt Lake.

Note: TheBus will not OPERATE INTO THE ARIZONA MEMORIAL service stop while contra-flow lane is in operation.

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali/Beretania, right Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, right Punchbowl, left Pohukaina, right South, left Ala Moana, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Ala Moana/South, right South, onto Alapai, left Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, left Alakea, then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 66, DOWNTOWN-KAILUA-AIKAHI

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali/Beretania, right Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, left into the Alapai Transit Center to the temporary terminus inside the transit center.

Westbound: TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus inside the Alapai Transit Center, right Alapai, left Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, left Alakea, then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 122, PUNCHBOWL-ALAPAI TRANSIT CENTER

Eastbound: No detour.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Airport (Upper Level), left onto H-1 on-ramp, left H-1 WEST “WAIANAE,” take EXIT 15B “JOINT BASE PHH,” onto Nimitz, onto O’Malley Boulevard, enter JBPH-Hickam, after passing under Kuntz Avenue overpass, veer right to take on ramp to Vandenberg, onto Kuntz, make a left U-turn at car wash, then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 306, KAHAUIKI VILLAGE

Eastbound: TheBus will travel from the Kalihi Transit Center Driveway/Middle, left Middle, left Kamehameha, onto Dillingham, right Kalihi, right Kalani, right Mokauea, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: No detour.

ROUTE 551, AIEA HEIGHTS-ALOHA STADIUM

Eastbound: TheBus will travel from the Halawa Aloha Stadium Station, right Halawa Aloha Stadium Station service road to exit Station, right Kamehameha, onto Aiea Access Rd, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Moanalua/Aiea Access Rd, right Aiea Access Rd, onto Kamehameha, veer to far left lane prior to Salt Lake to utilize coned off turning lane, left Salt Lake (WAIT FOR HPD assistance), right into Halawa Aloha Stadium Station.

ROUTE 552, HALAWA HEIGHTS-ALOHA STADIUM

Eastbound: TheBus will travel from the Halawa Aloha Stadium Station, right Halawa Aloha Stadium Station service road to exit Station, right Kamehameha, onto Aiea Access Rd, right Moanalua, veer left onto Kaimakani, right Ulune, left Aliipoe, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Halawa Heights/Kahuapaani, right Ulune, left Kaimakani, right Moanalua, left Aiea Access Rd, onto Kamehameha, veer to far left lane prior to Salt Lake to utilize coned off turning lane, left Salt Lake (WAIT FOR HPD assistance), right into Halawa Aloha Stadium Station.

ROUTE A, CITY EXPRESS! A

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Salt Lake (service Stop #695), continue on Kamehameha, then resume the regular route.

NOTE: THEBUS WILL NOT OPERATE INTO HALAWA ALOHA STADIUM STATION.

Westbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Kamehameha/Center, merge left onto Kamehameha (contra-flow lane), then resume the regular route after passing Salt Lake.

ROUTE E, COUNTRY EXPRESS! E

Eastbound: TheBus will travel the regular route to Pali/Beretania, right Beretania, left Nuuanu, left King, after crossing King/Bishop, then resume the regular route.

Westbound: No detour.
