ROAD CLOSURE – KALIA ROAD REPAVEMENT PROJECT

 

U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, will conduct a road rehabilitation project along Kalia Road to improve safety and accessibility to the roadway and damaged sidewalks and walkways.  As a result, Kalia Road will be closed to buses, starting from 7:00 a.m. on TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 2025, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.  During the roadwork, local traffic only will be maintained for the hotels within the area. TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

 

AFFECTED ROUTES:

20, 42, E, W1, W2, & W3

AFFECTED AREA:

No service on Kalia Road and Saratoga Road.

STARTING:

7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, until further notice,

TIME:

24 hours a day / 7 days a week, unless directed by Police.

 

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

 

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-ALOHA STADIUM

ROUTE 42, EWA BEACH-WAIKIKI

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Ala Moana/Kalia, continue on Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, and then resume the regular route after crossing Kalaimoku.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Olohana, continue on Kuhio, onto Kalakaua, right Pau, left Ala Wai, left Niu, onto Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route after crossing Ena.

 

ROUTE E, COUNTRY EXPRESS! E

 

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Ala Moana/Kalia, continue on Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, and then resume the regular route after crossing Saratoga.

 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Olohana, continue on Kuhio, onto Kalakaua, right Pau, left Ala Wai, left Niu, onto Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route after crossing Ena.

 

ROUTE W1, WAIPAHU VIA FARRINGTON

ROUTE W2, WAIPAHU VIA PAIWA EXPRESS

 

AM/PM Operations: TheBus will travel the regular route to Ala Moana/Kalia, continue on Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, and then resume the regular route after crossing Kalaimoku.

 

ROUTE W3, KALIHI VIA SCHOOL STREET EXPRESS

 

AM Operations:        TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalakaua/Ena, right Ena, left Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, and then resume the regular route after crossing Kalaimoku.

 

PM Operations:        TheBus will travel the regular route to Ala Moana/Kalia, continue on Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, and then resume the regular route after crossing Kalaimoku.
