TURKEY TROT FUN RUN

The TURKEY TROT FUN RUN will be held on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2017, and is expected to have 800 participants.  The event will take place in the Waikiki, Diamond Head, Kilauea, and Kahala areas.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus at Leahi/Hinano, TheBus will continue on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, and then resume the regular route.  

ROUTE 14, ST. LOUIS-MAUNALANI

ROUTE 22, BEACH BUS 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Poni Moi/Paki, left Paki (HPD assistance), right Noela, left Leahi, right Monsarrat, onto Diamond Head, left Kahala, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  From Paki/Noela, TheBus will travel right Noela, left Leahi, left Monsarrat, right Paki, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus at Paki/Poni Moi, TheBus will continue on Paki, right Noela, left Leahi, left Monsarrat, right Paki, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE 23, HAWAII KAI-SEA LIFE PARK

ROUTE 24, KAPAHULU - AINA HAINA 

Eastbound Kapahulu/Olu to Ani Hind Iuka:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Ala Wai, right Ala Wai, left Ohua, left Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, left Monsarrat, onto Diamond Head, left 18th, right Kilauea, and then resume the regular route after crossing Puu Panini. 

Westbound Ani/Hind Iuka to Hunakai/Waialae:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kilauea/Puu Panini, continue on Kilauea, right 22nd, right Kaimuki, right Luawai, left Kilauea, and then resume the regular route.  

Westbound Ani/Hind Iuka to Kapahulu/Olu:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Kilauea/Puu Panini, continue on Kilauea, left 18th, right Diamond Head, and then resume the regular route.

The HAWAII KAI CHRISTMAS PARADE will be held on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2017. The parade will begin at Kamiloiki Elementary School and proceed onto Hawaii Kai Dr., onto Lunalilo Home Rd. and end at Koko Marina Shopping Center.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Lunalilo Home/Hawaii Kai, continue on Lunalilo Home into the contra-flow lane, (do not service Lunalilo Home stops in the contra flow lane), and then resume the regular route after crossing Kaumakani.  

ROUTE 23, HAWAII KAI-SEA LIFE PARK

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route route to Hawaii Kai Park and Ride; after servicing the Park and Ride, right Keahole, left Kalanianaole, left Lunalilo, and then resume the regular route after crossing Wailua. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route route to Hawaii Kai/Ahukini, left Ahukini, left Lunalilo Home Rd. into the contra-flow lane, (do not service Lunalilo Home stops in the contra flow lane) right Kalanianaole, right Keahole, left into the Hawaii Kai Park and Ride, and then resume the regular route.                        

 


WAIKIKI HOLIDAY PARADE

The WAIKIKI HOLIDAY PARADE will be held on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2017. The parade will begin at Fort DeRussy, proceed along Kalakaua, onto Monsarrat, and terminate at the Kapiolani Park Bandstand parking lot. During the parade, there will be no westbound service on Kalia Road. Westbound passengers should transfer to their desired westbound routes on Ala Moana/Ena.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus at Leahi/Hinano, TheBus will continue on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, left Kapahulu, right Kuhio to Olohana, continue on Kuhio, onto Kalakaua, right Pau, left Ala Wai, left Niu, onto Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route after crossing Ena.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY – SYLVIA MARTZ MEMORIAL 5K RUN

The SYLVIA MARTZ MEMORIAL 5K RUN will be held on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2017.  The run will start at Monsarrat Ave. and follow the jogging path on Paki, onto Kalakaua, complete 2 loops and finish at the Honolulu Marathon Finish Line.  AAll roadways will remain open with a temporary closure of Monsarrat for the start of the race.

THANKSGIVING DAY HOLIDAY 

THANKSGIVING DAY will be observed on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2017.  All City bus routes including Community Access Services will operate their SUNDAY SCHEDULES. 

REMINDERS 

All express bus routes ARE CANCELLED except Routes A, C, E, W1, W2 and W3, which will operate their SUNDAY SCHEDULES. 

Routes 20 Waikiki-Pearlridge and 42 Ewa Beach-Waikiki in the westbound direction will not enter the Arizona Memorial Parking lot.

The Roosevelt Bridge (Kipapa Gulch) Rehabilitation project is scheduled to close Kamehameha Hwy. between Ka Uka Blvd. and Lanikuhana at 9:00 p.m. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2017, through 5:00 a.m. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2017. Kamehameha Hwy. will be closed in both directions. TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

A portion of Kailua Rd. between South Kainalu and South Kalaheo St. will be closed starting on MONDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2017, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Passengers may board buses at the portable placed on South Kainalu/Kailua or Kalaheo/Kailua.

Burns Freeway, right EXIT 15 “KANEOHE BAY DRIVE,” right Kaneohe Bay Dr., onto N. Kalaheo, and then resume the regular route.


FARRINGTON HIGHWAY P.M. CONTRAFLOW 

The Farrington Hwy. Afternoon Contraflow will begin on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2016, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The eastbound lanes along Farrington Hwy. will be reduced to one lane and will restrict left turns onto Nanakuli Ave.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.
