Events/Short Term Detour Information

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure RUN/WALK 

The SUSAN G. KOMEN RACE FOR THE CURE RUN/WALK will be held on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2017, starting at 7:00 a.m.  The run/walk will affect service in the Kapiolani Park and Kapahulu areas.  The event is expected to have 7,500 participants.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.   

AFFECTED ROUTES:

2, 8, 9, 14, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 42, E, W1, W2, & W3

AFFECTED AREA:

Paki, Kapahulu, Campbell, and Monsarrat

Buses will DETOUR as outlined below:

ROUTE 2, WAIKIKI-SCHOOL-MIDDLE

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Kapahulu, right Kapahulu, left Kalakaua, left Poni Moi, left Paki, right Noela, left Leahi, right Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route after crossing Campbell.

Westbound:  No detour. 

ROUTE 8, WAIKIKI-ALA MOANA

ROUTE 42, EWA BEACH-WAIKIKI

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Kapahulu, left Kapahulu (no eastbound stops on Kapahulu), left Date, right Ekela, right Winam, right Kapahulu to the temporary terminus on Kapahulu opposite Kanaina. 

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus, TheBus will continue on Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route after crossing Paki.

ROUTE 14, ST. LOUIS-MAUNALANI 

Eastbound: No detour.

Westbound:  Regular route to Paki/Noela, right Noela, left Leahi, right Monsarrat, left Campbell, right Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route.

ROUTE 19, WAIKIKI-AIRPORT-HICKAM

ROUTE 20, WAIKIKI-PEARLRIDGE 

Eastbound:   Regular route to Poni Moi/Paki, left Paki, and terminate at the temporary terminus at Paki/Poni Moi.

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus at Paki/Poni Moi, TheBus will continue on Paki, right Noela, left Leahi, right Monsarrat, left Campbell, left Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route after crossing Paki. 

ROUTE 22, BEACH BUS

Eastbound:   No detour.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Paki/Noela, right Noela, left Leahi, right Monsarrat, left Campbell, left Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route after crossing Paki.

ROUTE 23, HAWAII KAI-SEA LIFE PARK

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Kalakaua, left Kalakaua, left Poni Moi, left Paki, right Noela, left Leahi, right Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Monsarrat/Campbell, right Campbell, left Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route after crossing Paki.

 

ROUTE 24, KAPAHULU-AINA HAINA

 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Kalakaua, left Kalakaua, left Poni Moi, left Paki, right Noela, left Leahi, right Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route. 

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to Monsarrat/Campbell, right Campbell, right Kapahulu, and then resume the regular route. 

ROUTE E, COUNTRY EXPRESS 

Eastbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kalakaua/Kapahulu, left Kapahulu, (no eastbound stops on Kapahulu), left Date, right Ekela, right Winam, right Kapahulu to the temporary terminus on Kapahulu opposite Kanaina. 

Westbound:  From the temporary terminus at Kapahulu opposite Kanaina, TheBus will continue on Kapahulu, and then resume the regular regular route after crossing Paki. 

ROUTE W1, WAIPAHU VIA FARRINGTON EXPRESS

ROUTE W2, WAIPAHU VIA PAIWA EXPRESS

ROUTE W3, KALIHI VIA SCHOOL STREET EXPRESS

 

A.M. Operation:   TheBus will travel the regular route to Kuhio/Kapahulu, left Kapahulu (no eastbound stops on Kapahulu), left Date, right Makaleka, right Winam, right Kapahulu to the temporary terminus on Kapahulu opposite Kanaina.

 


DISCOVERERS’ DAYa>

 

DISCOVERERS’ DAY will be observed on MONDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2017.  

Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard will be closed.  

The following bus routes will not run on Discoverers’ Day: 

Route PH 1 – Waianae Coast – Pearl Harbor Express
Route PH 2 – Mililani Town – Pearl Harbor Express
Route PH 3 – Wahiawa Heights – Pearl Harbor Express
Route PH 4 – Kaneohe – Kahaluu – Pearl Harbor Express
Route PH 5 – Windward – Pearl Harbor Express
Route PH 6 – Hawaii Kai – Pearl Harbor Express
Route PH 7 – Ewa Beach – Pearl Harbor Express 

Route 9 – Kaimuki – Pearl Harbor buses will terminate at Center/Nimitz.

 


KAILUA ROAD CLOSURES 

A portion of Kailua Rd. between South Kainalu and South Kalaheo St. will be closed starting on MONDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2017, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Passengers may board buses at the portable placed on South Kainalu/Kailua or Kalaheo/Kailua.

QUEEN STREET AND ALA MOANA BOULEVARD

INTERSECTION CLOSURE 

The intersection at Queen St. and Ala Moana Blvd. will be closed 7 days a week starting on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

LILIHA STREET – SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT 

Liliha Street will be closed between Kauai Street and Hawaii Street for sewer line replacement, starting on FRIDAY, MAY 19, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

KANEOHE MARINE BASE – MOKAPU GATE CLOSURE 

The Mokapu Gate into Kaneohe Marine Base will be closed on weekends effective SATURDAY, JANUARY 28, 2017, until further notice.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

Westbound:  TheBus will travel the regular route to N. Kalaheo/Mokapu Rd., continue straight ahead onto Kaneohe Bay Dr., right onto access to Kaneohe Marine Base, onto John A. Burns Fwy., enter main gate, onto “G” St., right Mokapu, right Harris, right Selden, veer left on 3rd St., left “G” St., exit base onto John A. Burns Freeway, right EXIT 15 “KANEOHE BAY DRIVE,” right Kaneohe Bay Dr., onto N. Kalaheo, and then resume the regular route.


FARRINGTON HIGHWAY P.M. CONTRAFLOW 

The Farrington Hwy. Afternoon Contraflow will begin on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2016, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The eastbound lanes along Farrington Hwy. will be reduced to one lane and will restrict left turns onto Nanakuli Ave.  TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.
