ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY PAR AD E  

On WEDNESDAY, March 17, 2010 , the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, sponsored by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick will commence at 12:00 noon , along the following route:

From the Kalakaua/Saratoga intersection, east on Kalakaua, left Monsarrat, ending at Queen Kapiolani Park parking lot.  Buses on the following routes will DETOUR as outlined below at approximately 11:45 a.m. , or when directed by the police.

NOTES:

1. TheBus will service all bus stops along the detour route.

2. During the parade, Routes E, 8, 19, 20, 23, 24, and 42 will pick up all passengers at all bus stops along Kalia Road and they will be directed to transfer to their desired routes either on Ala Moana Boulevard or on Kuhio Avenue.

 

Route B, CityExpress!

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to the Kalakaua/Ena bus stop.  DETOUR by merging into the left lane to turn left Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Leahi to temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau ( Paki Park ). 

Westbound:   TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau ( Paki Park ), continue DETOUR via Koko Head on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, left Kapahulu, right Kuhio, and then resume the regular route.  

Route E, CountryExpress!

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to the Kalia/Army Museum driveway.  DETOUR right counter-clockwise around Army Museum turnaround, exit left Kalia, right Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio to Kuhio/Kapahulu, left Kapahulu, right Leahi to temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau (Paki Park).

Westbound:   TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau (Paki Park), continue DETOUR via Koko Head on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, left Kapahulu, right Kuhio, regular route to Kuhio/Lewers bus stop.  DETOUR by continuing ewa on Kuhio, servicing the temporary bus stop at Kuhio/Olohana, right Kalakaua, right Pau , left Ala Wai, left Niu, onto Ala Moana, servicing the temporary stop at Todai’s Restaurant, and then resume the regular route.  

Route 2, Waikiki-School-Middle

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to the temporary bus stop at Kuhio/Kapahulu.  DETOUR left Kapahulu, right Leahi, right Noela, left Paki, right Kalakaua (ewa-bound), left at the Dillingham Fountain, left Kalakaua (Koko Head-bound), resuming regular route to Paki/Poni Moi terminus. 

Westbound:   No detour.  

Route 4, Nuuanu-Punahou

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to the temporary bus stop at Kuhio/Kapahulu.  DETOUR left Kapahulu, right Leahi to temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau ( Paki Park ).

Westbound:   TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau ( Paki Park ), continue detour via Koko Head on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, and then resume the regular route.

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to the bus stop at Kalia Road/Hale Koa Hotel.  Continue Koko Head on Kalia to the U.S. Army Museum driveway.  DETOUR right counter-clockwise around the driveway, left Kalia, right Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, resuming regular route to temporary bus stop at Kuhio/Kapahulu.  DETOUR left Kapahulu, right Leahi, to temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau ( Paki Park ).

Westbound:   TheBus will travel from the temporary terminus at Leahi/Lakimau ( Paki Park ), continue DETOUR via Koko Head on Leahi, right Monsarrat, right Paki, and then resume regular route UNTIL KUHIO/LAUNIU.  From this point, DETOUR by continuing ewa on Kuhio, right Kalakaua, right Pau , left Ala Wai, left Niu, onto Ala Moana, and then resume the regular route.

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel the regular route to Kapahulu/Lemon.  DETOUR right Lemon, right Paoakalani, right Kuhio, left Kapahulu, right Leahi, right Noela, left Paki, right Kalakaua (ewa-bound) left at the Dillingham Fountain, left Kalakaua (Koko Head-bound), and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:   No detour.

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel from Leahi/Lakimau, continue Koko Head on Leahi, left Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:   TheBus will travel the regular route to temporary eastbound bus stop at Kuhio/Kapahulu.  DETOUR left Kapahulu, right Leahi to Leahi/Lakimau ( Paki Park ).  

Route 23, Hawaii Kai-Sea Life Park

Eastbound:    To Hawaii Kai/Sea Life Park – TheBus will travel the regular route to bus stop at Kalia Road/Hale Koa Hotel.  Continue Koko Head on Kalia to the U.S. Army Museum driveway.  DETOUR right counter-clockwise around the driveway, left Kalia, right Ala Moana, right Kalakaua, left Kuhio, resuming regular route to temporary bus stop at Kuhio/Kapahulu.  DETOUR left Kapahulu, right Leahi, left Monsarrat, and then resume the regular route.

16th ANNUAL HONOLULU FESTIVAL GRAND PAR AD E  

On Sunday, March 14, 2010 , the 16th Annual Honolulu Festival Grand Parade will commence at 4:30 P.M. along the following route:

From Kalakaua/Saratoga, continue east on Kalakaua, left Monsarrat, terminating in the Waikiki Shell parking lot.

Preparation for the festival and the parade itself will affect traffic and city bus operations as follows:

·        From 2:00 P.M. , one (1) mauka and one (1) makai lane on Kalakaua between Ala Moana and Saratoga and one (1) mauka-bound curb lane of Saratoga opposite the Waikiki Post Office will be CLOSED for staging of participants and floats.

·        Buses on the following routes will DETOUR as outlined below at approximately 3:30 P.M. or when directed by the police.

Starting 8:00 a.m. , THURSDAY, February 11, 2010 , HTM Construction Company will be making AD A bus stop improvements on Liliha Street , between Kauai Street and Hawaii Street , weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Eastbound:    TheBus will travel from the Liliha/Namauu terminus, continue mauka on Liliha to the Liliha/Kauai intersection.  DETOUR left onto Kauai , right Puunui, left Hawaii , and then resume the regular route.

Westbound:   No detour.  

NOTE:      NO PARKING barricades have been set up on Puunui Avenue (kokohead/mauka-bound side) and Hawaii Street (ewa/makai corner) to expedite TheBus operations on the detour route.
