FOURTH OF JULY, 2008 EVENTS

Post Fireworks Show Supplementary Bus Service at Ala Moana Center - July 4, 2008

 FOURTH OF JULY, 2008 EVENTS  

The following events celebrating the Fourth of July/Independence Day Holiday will occur as follows:  

1.  ALOHA TOWER MARKETPLACE SHOW

THURSDAY, JULY 3, 2008 , 9:00 P.M. FIREWORKS SHOW

Routes E, 55, 56, 57, 65

Entertainment events start at 5:00 p.m. , with a 10 minute fireworks show starting at 9:00 p.m.   Aloha Tower Marketplace security may cone off the Bishop Street Extension at Nimitz Highway BUT will remove the cones for City buses to operate on their regular routing to Kakaako , Ala Moana Center, and Waikiki .  

2. KAILUA TOWN 4TH OF JULY INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE

FRIDAY, JULY 4, 2008 , 9:00 A.M.

Route 70

The annual parade will start from N. Kainalu Drive and Omao Street, east on N. Kainalu Drive , to the end at Kailua Intermediate School on S. Kainalu Drive .  The 8:55 a.m. trip departing the Lanikai terminus for Marine Corps Base Hawaii should operate its regular route to Kailua Road/Hahani, then DETOUR on Kailua Road to Oneawa Road, right on Mokapu Saddle Road onto Mokapu Road, resuming the regular route to the Marine base.  The return trip from the Marine base to Kailua Town should be open to proceed on its regular routing.  

3. KAILUA TOWN 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW

FRIDAY, JULY 4, 2008 8:00 P.M.

The annual fireworks show off Kailua Beach Park will affect streets around Kailua Beach Park from the afternoon to after the event is completed.  Route 70 Lanikai trips may be affected with heavy traffic conditions.  

4. HAWAII KAI'S FIREWORK'S SHOW

FRIDAY, JULY 4, 2008 , 8:00 P.M.

This inaugural event will have events at Maunalua Bay Beach Park and a fireworks show at 8:00 p.m. over the bay.  No additional City bus service is scheduled.  

5. ALA MOANA CENTER 'S ANNUAL CONCERT AND FIREWORKS SHOW

FRIDAY, JULY 4, 2008 , 8:30 P.M.FIREWORKS START

The 20 minute fireworks show off Magic Island is the finale to the Center's evening's entertainment venue at 5:00 p.m. at the mall level stage by Sears.  Just prior to 8:30 p.m. , expect Ala Moana Boulevard to be closed at the Kamakee Street and Atkinson Drive intersections for regular traffic.  City buses will be allowed by HPD to proceed on regular routes WITH CAUTION.  NOTE:  Refer to  "Post Fireworks Show Supplementary Bus Service at Ala Moana Center - July 4, 2008 " notice.

at Ala moana center - Friday, july 4, 2008  

Ala Moana Center's 17^th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Show will be held Friday night, July 4, 2008, with a Pre-Fireworks Concert at the Mall Level, Makai Parking Deck (Sears), and ending with the Fireworks Show off Magic Island at 8:30 p.m.  Due to the large crowds expected for this event, TheBus will provide supplementary bus service on the below listed routes immediately after the fireworks show from the following boarding locations:
